Cindy Kurpil Gieger is running for the Sullivan County Legislature in District 5. As co-founder of the innovative Sullivan County Farm Network—she and her husband operate a solar equipped dairy farm—she is one of the forces that have finally succeeded in moving forward the building of a creamery in Western Sullivan County. Cindy is affecting the political—and physical—landscape even before she becomes a county legislator. In recognition of her dedication to local farming, she has been appointed to the New York State Association of Counties Blue Ribbon Task Force on agriculture.
But Gieger’s experience is not limited to agriculture. She has also been a public health nurse, and the knowledge and experience she gained in that position was one of the reasons she was such a hit when she addressed seniors at the recent meeting of the Senior Legislative Action Committee in Monticello.
The fact is, Geiger always stands out. If you’ve ever been present when she has addressed the legislature or a meeting of the Industrial Development Agency, then you know what a thoughtful, articulate, forthright person she is.
Cindy Gieger is a learner and a natural leader; she will bring a breath of fresh, country air to the county legislature.
