Sullivan County District Attorney Jim Farrell announced that John Armbruster, 52, of Monticello, N.Y. was sentenced in Sullivan County Court to 1 2/3 to 5 years in state prison for the daytime robbery of the Eldred branch of the First National Bank of Jeffersonville.

Amrbruster was arrested after an investigation by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department and District Attorney’s Office. Farrell said, “The Sheriff’s Department worked extremely hard to solve this bank robbery and they did a fine job in quickly and professionally apprehending the bank robber here and their fine work has ensured that the perpetrator brought to justice”, Farrell said.
Judge Michael McGuire also ordered Armbruster to pay $2,945.00 in restitution and issued a permanent order of protection for the bank and the employees inside at the time of the robbery.
