HONESDALE, PA — As part of Catholic School Week, St. Dominic’s Academy will host a wine and cheese social for all alumni of Catholic education in Honesdale, on Friday, January 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Catholic Family Community Center (former Honesdale and St. Vincent’s Catholic School) on Cliff Street.
The reception will allow alumni an opportunity to share their memories of Honesdale Catholic, whether it was the downtown school next to St. Mary Magdalene Church, the school on the hill built by Fr. Linus Fricker or St. Vincent’s. Those who attend will be able to peruse some memorabilia and photos from the former schools and swap stories of their experiences with Catholic education.
The event is free and there will be food, entertainment and opportunities to “share the memories and see the future” of Catholic education in the area. All Catholic school alumni, former teachers, friends of Catholic schools and interested members of the community are strongly encouraged to come and participate in this celebration.
