LIBERTY, NY — The 99th annual meeting of Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Sullivan County will be held on Thursday, December 12 at 7 p.m. This free, public event will be at the Gerald J. Skoda Extension Education Center. Coffee, tea, hot cocoa and homemade desserts will be available.
Stanley “Lee” Telega, New York State director at the USDA Rural Development Office, will be the keynote speaker. He will discuss resources administered by the USDA Rural Development that connect communities, businesses and individuals to improve the economic conditions and the quality of life in rural communities. Telega was appointed by President Obama to the director’s position in June 2013. No stranger to Extension or Sullivan County, Telega is a former senior extension specialist who worked with many of the dairy farmers in the region and served as a technical advisor to the New York City Watershed.
CCE volunteers and youth will be honored for their accomplishments and dedication to CCE’s Sullivan County Centennial Campaign.
