EQUINUNK, PA — Members of the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) will visit the Equinunk Historical Society on Sunday, August 10 to exhibit their handcrafted and fully operational wooden canoes. Each canoe is a carefully constructed work of art. The group has agreed to share their creations with us and will talk about the work that goes into creating these craft.
The WCHA is a non-profit membership organization devoted to preserving, studying, building, restoring, and using wooden and bark canoes, and to disseminating information about canoeing heritage throughout the world. Members of the WCHA have visited this area several times, to camp and canoe the Delaware.
The Calder Museum and Calder Corner Gift Shop is located at 1972 Pine Mill Rd. in the center of Equinunk. Doors open at noon. Call 570/224-6722 for information.
