BETHEL, NY — Three artists, Helen K. Garber, Todd C. Anderson and Ray Fiero, grapple with pathos and the past in the works on display at the Stray Cat Gallery on Route 17B in the exhibit “Pathos Envisioned.’ There will be an opening reception on Saturday, August 3 from 4 to 7 p.m. The show runs through August 14.
Garber, who stayed in the Catskills during childhood summers, uses a fusion of photography and encaustics in a series based on the Catskills remnants of the Golden Age of tourism. A similar sense of nostalgia pervades the works of Todd C. Anderson, presenting a series called “Childhood Memories Preserved in Wax.” Fiero’s connection to a lost past, now found, comes through his material: found objects.
Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, Saturday 10 to 7 p.m. and Sunday 10 to 6 p.m. Visit www.straycatgallery.com or call 845/423-8850.
