HAWLEY, PA—Mary Tellie of Electric City Roasting Company, based in Scranton, PA will discuss the distinctions between fair trade and direct trade coffee this Saturday, August 25 at 9:30 am at Mill Market in the Hawley Silk Mill. Tellie will also provide samples of her award-winning brews.
Tellie is a coffee aficionado, certified cupper, licensed Q Grader with the Coffee Quality Institute (CQI) and a roaster with decades of experience. She has been featured in Roast Magazine, Barista magazine, Food Space Newsletter, and Milford Magazine. Electric City Roasting Company is a member of the Specialty Coffee Association of America.
Tellie's appearance will be followed at noon by a grilling demo with Grant Genzlinger of The Settlers Inn on The Big Green Egg, a modern-day evolution of an ancient cooking vessel. Guests can enjoy a complimentary BBQ lunch tasting.
Green Eggs and Coffee Day at Mill Market will be held in association with Wally Lake Fest, a fun-filled family weekend happening on the water and land around Lake Wallenpaupack. There is no fee to attend the August 25 events at Mill Market, a central source for local food and goods made within 200 miles of the Lake Wallenpaupack Region.
