FORESTBURGH, NY — “Proud of Our Home: Celebrating 175 Years of the Town of Forestburgh” will be the theme of the pre-season fund raiser for the Forestburgh Theatre Arts Center, to be held on Saturday, June 9 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. The evening will feature previews of the opening production of “Guys and Dolls,” as well as a few tidbits from the opening cabaret “Get Happy: The Music of Harold Arlen.”
Mr. Willy’s will cater an old-time barbeque for the event, and there will be a silent auction. The event will take place in multiple venues around the playhouse grounds: the tavern, a tent provided by Spencer Daniels Agency and (if the weather cooperates) the playhouse gardens and grounds.
The tavern will be decorated with memorabilia from the last 175 years of Forestburgh history. In addition, there will be an unveiling of the progress of a Sullivan Renaissance project at the playhouse; the old split rail fence is being replaced with a new fence to be planted with climbing roses, clematis and annuals.
Tickets are tax-deductible and cost $66 per person, $60 for Town of Forestburgh residents. Visit www.FBplayhouse.org or call 845/794-1194.
