HAWLEY, PA — Irving Schild of MAD Magazine will speak about his work and experiences at Hawley Public Library on Thursday, August 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. He will also donate a variety of MAD publications to the library.
Schild has been the photographer for MAD Magazine since 1965. He is a commercial photographer whose work has appeared in such magazines as LIFE, Esquire, McCall’s, Paris Match and other international publications. He recently retired from his position as full professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC, where he served as chairman of the Photography Department for many years. He is the recipient of numerous awards in the fields of advertising and graphic arts as well as photography. Schild has had a house in Hawley for over 40 years. He has used local people and locations for a number of his MAD shots.
