During the week of January 16th, 2017 Troopers from the Liberty barracks handled a number of burglary complaints in the towns of Liberty and Callicoon. A 39-year-old Forestburgh man has been arrested for robbing the Chase bank in Monticello.
The bank robber occurred on January 24 and the arrest came two days later. Eduardo Torres was arrested and charged with robbery and grand larceny, both felonies.
The Chase Bank on Broadway in Monticello was robbbed on the morning of January 24, by a light-skinned man who police say may have been white or Hispanic.

The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office is attempting to locate Lawrence Molinaro, age 76, of Cochecton. Molinaro was reported missing by his relatives on Thursday (12/29/16), after he missed a doctor's appointment at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. A 21-year-old Bronx man has been sentenced after being convicted of second-degree Murder for the 2013 shooting of a 19-year-old man in the Tremont section of the Bronx. He was also sentenced for gun possession based on a photograph of him holding the murder weapon posted on Facebook.
