Pike County Sentencing Information for May 15, 2017

Pike County District Attorney Raymond J. Tonkin announced the following criminal sentences were issued by Pike County Court of Common Pleas Judge Gregory Chelak:

Richard Patrick Babcock, 21, of Port Jervis, NY, was sentenced to 82 days to 12 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $250.00 for the crime of Retail Theft.  Babcock took $247.90 worth of clothing from a retail store in Westfall Township on January 13, 2016, without paying for them.

Pike County Sentencing Information for May 25, 2017

Anthony Suarez, 30, of Bushkill, PA, was sentenced to 90 days to 5 years in the Pike County Jail, fined $1,500.00 and had his driver’s license suspended for 18 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence.  The state police were dispatched to assist Public Safety in a community in Lehman Township for a report of a vehicle off the road with a suspected intoxicated driver.  In speaking with Suarez, the driver of the vehicle, the trooper detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage and observed his eyes to be glossy and bloodshot and his speech slurred.  A Field Sobriety Test could not be conducted due to the level of impairment.  A breath test confirmed a blood alcohol content of .176%.

Daniel Raymond Rizzi, 31, of East Stroudsburg, PA, was sentenced to a state correctional facility for 18 months to 36 months and fined $500.00 for the crime of Theft.  Between July 8, 2016 and July 18, 2016, Rizzi took items of jewelry and a pistol, with a total value of $2,000.00, from a residence in Lehman Township without the owner’s permission.
