Wurtsboro Man Sentenced to 17 years for Sexual Assault of Children
District Attorney Jim Farrell announced today that Herbert Ploschke, 68, of Wurtsboro, N.Y. was sentenced in Sullivan County Court to a total of 17 years in state prison and 10 years of post release supervision for the rape and sexual abuse of two minor girls by County Judge Michael McGuire. Scranton man arrested in Honesdale for parole violation
On November 6th 2012, the Honesdale Borough Police arrested Blaise Melofchik, 30 from Scranton. Melofchik was wanted by Pike County for a parole violation. Borough Police Officer’s had received information on Melofchik’s whereabouts and found him at a Willow Ave residence. He was taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Correctional Facility while he awaits transport back to Pike County?
Pearl River man leads police on chase in Orange County
Mount Hope, NY - On November 5, 2012, the New York State Police at Middletown announce the arrest of ROBERT J. ALTIERI, age 50, of Pearl River, NY. He was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, reckless endangerment in the first degree, unlawfully fleeing police in the third degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, driving while ability impaired by drugs, and numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. Accord man arrested for unlawfully growing marijuana
The New York State Police at Ellenville announce the arrest of Michael R. Dennin Jr, age 38, from Accord, NY. Dennin was charged with Criminal possession of marijuana in the second degree, a felony, and Unlawful growing of cannabis, a misdemeanor. Read more

Woman charged with scratch off lottery scam in Monticello.
A Cuddebackville woman has been charged with Felony Forgery in a scratch off lottery scam in Monticello. Nicole Schultz, 29, who worked at the Smoker’s Choice store on Route 42 next to McDonald’s, has been arrested by Sheriff’s Deputies for allegedly scamming customers.
Between September 24 and October 16, 2012, Deputies allege that Schultz very carefully scratched off the tiny control number located in the bottom corner of instant winning lottery cards and then scanned them in the lottery terminal to see if they were winners. Read more
Marijuana grow operation busted in Shandalee
Two men have been arrested after a three month investigation by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, the DEA, and the Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office. On Thursday October 25 at approximately 2:25 a.m. sheriff’s deputies and agents from the DEA Strike Force executed a search warrant at 879 Shandelee Road in the Town of Callicoon. Inside the residence, officers discovered a sophisticated marijuana growing operation. Read more

Four Liberty arrests
On Thursday October 11th 2012 the Village of Liberty Police Department arrested Frank Jaros, 50 of Ocala Florida after a vehicle stop on Main Street in the Village of Liberty. After stopping the vehicle driven by Jaros for a failing to yield a right of way, Jaros was found to have been operating the vehicle while impaired by drugs. Additionally one of the passengers in the vehicle was a 6 year old juvenile. Read more
Copper thieves arrested in Sullivan
The New York State Police announce the arrest of four individuals from Spring Valley, NY. JASON SANDOVAL, age 22, NOE MONROY-LEMUS, age 18, LENIN CHICAIZA, age 18 and a sixteen year old male were arrested for the felony charge of attempted burglary in the third degree and the misdemeanor charges of criminal trespass in the third degree, possession of burglar’s tools and resisting arrest. SANDOVAL and the sixteen year old were additionally charged with a burglary that occurred in September at the Homowack Resort in Phillipsport, NY. Read more
Forestburgh man arrested in connection with heroin overdose deaths
The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Forestburgh man in connection with heroin sales in the Monticello area. Jason Bolden, 45, was taken into custody on Tuesday (10-2-12) in the parking lot of Burger King in Monticello after deputies observed him making a deal. Read more
Marlboro resident arrested following sexual contact with a minor
The New York State Police at Highland announce the arrest of Terence N. Toback, 22, of 14 Church St., Marlboro, NY for Criminal Sexual Act in the first degree. The arrest stems from an investigation into allegations that Toback had sexual contact with a minor. Following his arrest, Toback was arraigned at the Town of Marlborough court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Liberty man arrrested for menacing with kithcen knife
On Thursday September 27th 2012 Village of Liberty Police arrested Rafael Malave, 24 of Monticello after an investigation into an incident that occurred on Tuesday September 25th, 2012. Read more
Three Arrested in Monticello for Felony Gang Assault
Monticello police have arrested Shamhrial Brown (23) of Hurleyville, Terrence Hulse (29) of Monticello and Earl Singer IV (27) of the Bronx following an investigation into the gang assault upon 2 males victims. The defendants were each charged with felony gang assault in the 1st degree and misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon in the 4th degree. Read more

The New York State Police in Montgomery announce the arrest of Eric J. Fleischman, age 51, of 2574 E 21st Street, Brooklyn, NY for Strangulation in the second degree (Class D Felony) and Assault in the third degree (Class A Misdemeanor). Read more
Honesdale man arrested for drug sales
Today, John J. Henneforth, Jr., age 33, was arraigned before Magisterial District Justice Ted Mikulak on felony charges relating to Delivery of a Controlled Substance in both Honesdale Borough and Dyberry Township.
These charges were filed by the Wayne County District Attorney’s Office and the Pennsylvania State Police and are a
continuation of the investigation which resulted in Henneforth’s arrest on August 28, 2012 on related drug charges. Read more
Liberty man arrested for drugs
On Thursday September 13th the Village of Liberty Police Department executed a search warrant on 21 Lincoln place apartment 2 in the Village of Liberty. As a result Juan Montero,34 , of Liberty was arrested on several felony drug charges.
Officers conducted the raid at around eight pm on Thursday night and seized cocaine, hydrocodone pills, marihuana, scales, packaging materials and money. Read more
