Monticello Police arrested David Lee Ward (50) of Monticello on March 14. Ward was charged with felonies for criminal possession of stolen property, forgery, tampering with physical evidence and unlawful possession of marijuana.  Read more

Monticello man arrested for burglary

Monticello Police arrested Ollen Eck (28) of Monticello on Friday 2/28/14. Eck was charged with felony burglary in the 2nd degree and misdemeanor petit larceny. Eck was arrested following an investigation into 12/20/13 burglary of a room at the Heritage Inn on Broadway in the village of Monticello.  Read more

Monticello man arrested for felony assault

Monticello Police arrested Daniel Ridley (28) of Monticello on Friday 2/28/14. Ridley was charged with felony assault in the 2nd degree and misdemeanor menacing in the 2nd degree. Ridley was arrested after Monticello police received a complaint from a 29 year-old Monticello woman reporting that Ridley had punched her in the face and also displayed what appeared to be a revolver and threatened to kill her.  Read more

Middletown man arrested for Liberty Vehicle theft, DWI

On March 2nd, 2014 State Police arrested Robert Ramirez, age 24 of Middletown, NY after an investigation into the theft of a 2013 BMW X6 that occurred on July 2, 2013. At that time, the owner of the vehicle reported the vehicle stolen from an address in the Town of Liberty. The vehicle was located in the City of Middletown on July 7th, 2013 by Troopers from the Middletown barracks.  Read more

Swan Lake man arrested for knife threat

On March 2, 2014 State Police at Liberty responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on State Route 55 in Swan Lake. Upon the arrival of responding troopers, they learned that Alan Yeneic, age 23, of Swan Lake had just threatened two subjects with a knife and that he had fled prior to the arrival of patrols.  Read more

Man arrested for stealing family member's identity

On February 27th, the New York State Police in Ellenville, announce the arrest of John F. Miller, age 50, of New Windsor, NY, for Forgery, Identity Theft, Reckless Endangerment and Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer.  Read more

Arrests in Honsdale thefts

Honesdale Police have concluded a month long investigation into several vehicle break-ins and thefts, all reported in the area of 11th Street. On 02-24-14 Honesdale National Bank personnel alerted Honesdale Borough Police that a payroll check belonging to one of the victims of the thefts had just been cashed at a drive-thru of their Rte 6 branch.  Read more

Heroin arrest in Liberty

On Sunday 02/23/14 the Village of Liberty Police arrested Gerardo Blanco, 25 and Melissa Santana 25, both of Liberty, NY after an investigation into drug sales from a hotel room. Liberty police officers had been investigating suspicious behavior at a local hotel in Liberty.  Read more

New York State Police at Wurtsboro, N. Y. announce the arrest of Matthew MacIsaac,31 years old, of Shawanga Lodge Road, Bloomingburg, NY , for Criminal Contempt 1st (felony), Criminal Contempt 2nd, Assault 3rd, Menacing 3rd, Criminal Mischief 4th (misdemeanors) and two counts of Harassment 2nd ( violation).  Read more

On February 19, 2014 State Police at Liberty arrested Rhonda Roach, age 53, of Jeffersonville, NY after an investigation into the filing of false paperwork with the Sullivan County Division of Health and Family Services.  Read more

Man arrested in Liberty for choking woman, stolen gun

The Village of Liberty Police Department arrested Timothy Soto, 24, of Liberty, NY on 02/13/14 after an investigation into a domestic disturbance. Liberty Police were called around 11:10 p.m. when a female in the Liberty Commons apartment complex on Barton Road called 911 reporting that she had been choked by a male individual.  Read more

The New York State Police in Wurtsboro arrested Patricia Venuti, age 62, of Spring Glen, NY, for the felony charge of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree.  Read more

The New York State Police in Middletown report the arrest of four people from New York City for Criminal Possession of Marijuana, 1st degree.  Read more

Woman arrested for cashing bad checks at Jeff Bank

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Newburgh woman in connection with a check forgery ring that operated in Sullivan County. Saran A. Smith, 21, of Newburgh was arrested last Monday (2/10/14) by Sheriff’s detectives and charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument and Grand Larceny.  Read more

Monticello teen arrested for rape

Monticello Police arrested Desmond Williams (18) of Monticello on Thursday 2/13/14. Williams was charged with felony Rape in the 1st degree and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child. Williams had engaged in sexual intercourse with a 12 year-old female victim on 2/11/14 at a residence in the Village of Monticello.  Read more

Woodbourne man arrested for rape

On February 11, 2014 State Police at Liberty arrested Jason Sherwood, age 36 of Woodbourne, NY after it was reported that he engaged in sex with a fourteen year old female this past New Year's Eve. Sherwood was arrested after an investigation was conducted by the Sullivan County Family Violence Response Team, which is comprised of State Police and Department of Health and Family Service members.  Read more

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Honesdale, an Arizona man has been arrested for burglary and stealing a car.  Read more

Traffic stop leads to heroin bust

On February 7, 2014 at 12:30 a.m. the New York State Police in Monroe arrested Ikenna Taylor, age 34, of the Bronx, NY for three felony counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.

Taylor was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for Vehicle and Traffic Law Violations on State Route 17 in the Town of Blooming Grove. He was found to be in possession of heroin, crack and powder cocaine.  Read more

Wurtsboro man arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a Child

The New York State Police in Wurtsboro announce the arrest of Rajendra Krishnanan, age 51, of Wurtsboro, NY for the misdemeanor charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Obstructing Governmental Administration and Resisting Arrest. Krishnanan was additionally charged with the violations of harassment and disorderly conduct.  Read more

On Wednesday, February 5, 2014 the New York State Police at Kingston announce the arrest of Sam D. Fisher, age 18, of Hurley, NY, for the felony charge of Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree.  Read more

On February 5, The New York State Police at Catskill announce the arrest of Franklin S. Tiernan, age 23, of Freehold, NY for Rape in the Second Degree (Class D Felony), Unlawfully Dealing With a Child in the First Degree and Endangering The Welfare of a Child (both Class A Misdemeanors).  Read more

Pond Eddy woman arrested for stealing truck

On January 27th, 2014 at approximately 12:30 am, State Police at Liberty were contacted by a resident of Pond Eddy reporting that his 2003 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck had just been stolen from his driveway on Church Road. Responding Troopers located the vehicle a short time later being operated on Shortell Road in the Town of Lumberland. The operator of the vehicle was taken into custody.  Read more

Monticello woman arrested for forged prescription

On January 27th, 2014 State Police at Liberty arrested a Monticello woman for forging a prescription for the painkiller Oxycodone. Authorities were alerted when 26 year old Kimberly Cleveland attempted to obtain the drug at the Monticello Walmart. Walmart pharmacy employees noticed that the prescription appeared to be forged and refused to fill the order. Cleveland was arrested a short time later in the Village of Liberty.  Read more

State Police Make Arrest in Embezzlement from Masonic Lodge

On January 21, 2014 State Police at Liberty arrested John P. Wells, age 44 of Milford, PA, after an investigation into the theft of funds from lodges of the Free and Accepted Masons in Sullivan County. An investigation revealed that Wells embezzled funds exceeding $50,000 over several years while he was an officer for the Masons.  Read more

Ten charged with dealing heroin and cocaine in Pike County

Seven suspected drug dealers were arrested in Pike County on January 14 as part of an investigation by the Pike County District Attorney’s Office into the selling of heroin and cocaine in Pike County. Three additional arrests are expected.  Read more

Monticello woman arrested for stealing roommate's purse

Monticello Police arrested Nicole Zydor (27) of Monticello on Wednesday 1/15/14. Zydor was charged with felony grand larceny in the 4th degree and misdemeanor petit larceny. She was also wanted by the Sullivan county sheriff office on a bench warrant for petit larceny from the Town of Thompson court.  Read more

Monticello arrested for DWI, drugs after fleeing on foot

Monticello Police arrested George Germany (27) of Monticello on Friday 1/17/14. Germany was charged with misdemeanors for driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired by the use of dugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and resisting arrest.  Read more

Accord woman arrested for leaving 12-year-old boy on side of road

On January 12, 2014, the New York State Police at SP Ellenville announce the arrest of Elisha M. Sickler, age 31, of Accord, NY, for the misdemeanor charge of Endangering the Welfare of Child.  Read more

State police arrest couple in Sullivan County ice storm

New York State Police at Liberty arrested Cynthia Pique, 39, and Eduardo Rodriguez, 37, both of Monticello, NY after troopers observed them sliding across Bridgeville Road in the Town of Thompson. The investigation revealed that Pique was operating a 2002 Lexus while having a suspended license and switched license plates on the vehicle.  Read more

District Attorney Jim Farrell announced today that John Irby, 34, of Ravena, NY was convicted, by jury verdict, in Sullivan County Court of Unlawful Imprisonment and various other charges.  Read more

Glen Spey woman arrested for forged documents at probation visit

Monticello Police arrested Amy Jo Smith (36) of Glen Spey on Thursday 1/9/14. Smith was charged with felony criminal possession of a forged instrument in the 2nd degree. On Thursday Smith had reported to the Sullivan county Probation Dept. because her out of state probation had been transferred to Sullivan County.  Read more

The State Police at Ellenville announce the arrest of Donald Fairweather Jr. age 47 of Cragsmoor NY for Vehicular Manslaughter in the first degree, a Felony, Vehicular Manslaughter in the second degree, a Felony, two counts of Vehicular Assault in the first degree, both Felonies, Vehicular Assault, in the second degree, a Felony, and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.  Read more
