On Wednesday May 13th, 2015 Liberty Troopers arrested a Liberty man and a Youngsville man for drug charges and Driving While ability Impaired by Drugs charges.
Liberty Troopers conducted a traffic stop on ST-17 in the Town of Thompson on Wednesday night. Upon interview of the driver Jeremie Whitted, of Youngsville, it was discovered that there was Marihuana and pills in the vehicle. Read more
On Sunday 5/3/15 State Police at Liberty responded to the Delaware Valley Job Corps located on Route 97 in Callicoon to investigate a report that a student had been attacked and robbed in one of the dormitories. The investigation determined that on 5/3/15 at approximately 1:30am, six male students entered the victim's dorm room while he slept, held him down, beat him with a belt and broke into a locker, stealing an Iphone and cash. The victim was treated for minor injuries at Catskill Regional Medical Center's Grover Hermann campus. Read more
On April 27, 2015 State Police at Liberty arrested the treasurer for the Firefighter's Burn Treatment Fund, William Clark, after an investigation into the theft of money from the fund's account.
The Firefighter's Burn Treatment fund was established in 1976 to assist local volunteer firefighters who are injured in the line of duty. The Fund serves firefighters in Orange, Sullivan, Dutchess and Ulster Counties. The investigation determined that Clark, age 52 of Swan Lake, NY stole over $1000 in cash from the fund over the course of the past year. Read more
The Pennsylvania Superior Court has ordered that two bail companies, Seneca Insurance Company and Evergreen National Indemnity Company, pay $125,000 to Pike Counting stemming from a murder conviction committed while a defendant was free on bail. Read more
The New York State Police at Ellenville announce the arrest of Dylan A. Dordal, 18 from Mountaindale, New York for Strangulation 2nd, a Felony, Assault 3rd, a Misdemeanor and Harassment 2nd, a Violation. Read more
On Tuesday April 7, 2015 The Monticello Police Department developed information that Alfred Franklin and Tina Esquilin, who were wanted by the Sheriff’s Office, were hiding at 19 Rock Ridge Rd. in Monticello. The residence belongs to a friend of Franklin.
The couple and their children had been the subject of an Amber alert in March. When they failed to appear in Family Court on April 1st, a warrant was issued for their arrest.
Armed with the warrant, Sheriff’s deputies and Monticello Police went to the residence and took Franklin, 30 and Esquilin, 27 into custody without incident. Read more
On April 6, 2015 State Police at Liberty arrested Michael Fisher, age 21 of Loch Sheldrake, NY after an investigation determined that he had sexual intercourse with a fourteen year old child. The incident was determined to have occurred in December of 2014 in the Town of Fallsburg. Read more
Village of Liberty Police arrested three people on March 16th, 2015 after an investigation into a firearm being brandished from a a vehicle at two individuals on Main Street in the evening hours. Police investigation resulted in locating the vehicle involved a short time later on North Main Street. Subsequent investigation resulted in locating approximately 5 grams of cocaine packaged for sale and a small amount of marihuana inside the vehicle. Read more
On March 14, 2015, the New York State Police Ellenville announce the arrest of Zain Ismail Eisenberg, age 23, of Asheville, North Carolina for the charges of Public Lewdness, Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, Petit Larceny and Disorderly Conduct. Read more
On March 10, 2015 State Police at Liberty arrested a Roscoe man after an investigation into the burglaries of 2 local businesses. On January 18, 2015 State Police responded to the Medicine Shoppe located on Stewart Ave after it was reported that someone had broken in and removed several thousand prescription painkillers. The New York State Police at SP Wurtsboro announce the arrest of Dylan E. Ward, age 17, of Port Jervis NY for Burglary 3rd, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th and Criminal Mischief 3rd, all felonies and Possession of Burglars Tools, a misdemeanor. Read more
On February 24, 2015 Troopers assigned to the Narrowsburg barracks executed a traffic stop on Bridge Street in Narrowsburg. During the stop, Troopers found the operator, Russell Compton, age 19 of Beach Lake, PA to be in possession of two pounds of marijuana and a small quantity of hashish. Read more
On February 26, 2015 State Police at Liberty arrested Zachary Doolittle, age 24 of Wurtsboro after investigating a report that he had sexual contact with a victim under the age of seventeen. The case was investigated by State Police members assigned to the Sullivan County Family Violence Response Team. Read more
On Wednesday February 25, 2015, Roscoe Troopers arrested the same Livingston Manor man twice in one night for Driving While Intoxicated.
Troopers from Roscoe responded to a Sullivan County 911 call for a man that had fallen out of his vehicle and was in the middle of the street in Livingston Manor on Wednesday night. Upon arrival to the scene Troopers located Paul Decker, of Livingston Manor, lying on the ground outside his vehicle in a highly intoxicated state. Read more
A Pike County man was sentenced in Pike court for assaulting his wife in their Greentown home. In November a Pike County Jury found Paul Burke, age 44, guilty of Aggravated Assault, a felony, Terroristic Threats, Simple Assault and Recklessly Endangering Another, all misdemeanors. On February 24, Judge Gregory H. Chelak sentenced Burke to 8 ½ years to 17 years in a state correctional facility, and ordered him to pay a fine of $1,700.00. Read more
On February 5, 2015 State Police at Liberty arrested three Grahamsville residents after an investigation into the theft of a credit card and debit card. The theft was reported to State Police on January 31, 2015. An investigation by the BCI unit at SP Liberty determined that the stolen cards had been used at various locations throughout Sullivan County. The thefts totalled more than $3000.00. Read more
On January 30th, 2015, New York State Police based in Greenville (Orange County) announce the arrests of John W. Stevens, 20 years old of Greenville, NY and Brett M. Stevens, 19 years old of Huguenot, NY for felony drug possession.
Both men were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana after State Troopers were called to a report of an accident on Greenville Turnpike in the Town of Greenville. Read more
RALPH PAUL BOEHMER, age 34, of Waymart, PA was sentenced, in two separate cases, to a State Correctional Institution for a period of not less than 18 months nor more than 84 months for one count of Receiving Stolen Property, graded as a Felony of the 3rd Degree, one count of Recklessly Endangering Another Person, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 2nd Degree, and one count of Disorderly Conduct, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 3rd Degree. On Thursday January 15th, 2015 the Village of Liberty Police Department arrested Michael Eason, 28 of Thompson after an investigation into the dissemination of pornographic material to a 14 year old juvenile in Liberty. Police began investigating when they became aware that the 14 year old had been sent naked pictures from an account in the name of a 16 year old female and the individual had requested naked pictures of the 14 year old in return. The Port Jervis City Police Department and Orange County District Attorney’s Office announces that on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, members of the Port Jervis City Police Department, in conjunction with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Group, executed a Port Jervis City Court “no knock” search warrant at 140 Ball Street, Port Jervis. According to police, an undisclosed amount of heroin and narcotics paraphernalia was seized. Read more
The Sheriff's Office has arrested two major suppliers in the Sullivan County heroin trade following a 6 month investigation.
On Tuesday January 13, 2015, deputies executed a search warrant at 41 High Street in Monticello. Taken into custody was 24 year old Frank Drayton, a/k/a "Vic". Read more
Janine Edwards, Wayne County District Attorney, announced that David Scott Teeter was found guilty today January 14 by a Wayne County Jury of one count of Rape-Complainant less than 13 years old, Felony 1 and one count of Rape of a Child, Felony 1. Read more

AARON JOSEPH ROSSIGNOL, age 36 of Lake Ariel, PA, was sentenced to probation for a period of not less than 36 months, for one count of Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 1st Degree. He was also ordered to pay
all Court costs, pay a fine in the amount of $500.00, and pay restitution in the amount of $7,000.00. The incident occurred between April 25, 2011 and January 22, 2014, in Salem Township. Read more
On January 8th, 2015, State Police at Liberty arrested Grace Belmont, age 31 of Napanoch, NY after an investigation conducted in conjunction with the Sullivan County Welfare Fraud Unit. The investigation determined that Belmont applied for and received benefits from the Sullivan County Department of Health and Family Services that she was not entitled to. These benefits totaled more than $10,000. Read more
At 4:19 AM on December 7, 2014, Port Jervis Police responded to a disturbance call at the Port Jervis Municipal parking lot on lower Pike Street. Upon arrival officers observed a large group of individuals watching two males engaged in a fight. Police arrested Kem Garland, age 26, of Mount William Street, Port Jervis, and Torey Posey, age 36, of 100 Sekani Trail, Albrightsville, PA, and charged them with the violation of Disorderly Conduct. Monticello Police arrested Trevor Sasso, age 31, of Monticello on Wednesday 11/19/14. Sasso was charged with Felony Assault in the 2nd Degree and Misdemeanors for Resisting Arrest and Obstructing Governmental Administration. Sasso was also wanted by New York State Parole as a Parole Absconder. Read more
The New York State Police at Ellenville arrested Daniel T Houck, 27 years old from Elmira, for Forgery 2nd, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th and Falsifying Business Records 1st, all Felonys.
On March 10, 2014, the State Police at SP Ellenville initiated a investigation into the theft of a credit card. Further investigation revealed that Houck had been shoveling the driveway of an elderly woman and while at the residence he stole her credit card. Houck then used the stolen credit card fraudulently at Rite Aid in Ellenville. Read more
On Saturday November 15, 2014 Troopers from the Liberty State Police barracks were called to Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris to investigate an assault on hospital staff. The investigation determined that Cassandra Torres, age 35 of Monticello attacked and bit a nurse in the emergency room while she was being treated. The nurse sustained a bite wound to her hand and was treated at the hospital for same. Read more
On Thursday November 14th, 2014 State Police at Liberty, along with the Sullivan County Welfare Fraud Unit arrested Jocelyne Lopez age 23 of Liberty, NY after determining that she had applied for and obtained public assistance benefits that she was not entitled to. The investigation determined that Lopez filed false applications for various public services that allowed her to collect more than $12,000 in benefits that she otherwise would not have been entitled to. On November 4th, 2014 State Police at Liberty responded to a report of a domestic involving a gun at a residence in Livingston Manor. The investigation determined that Jose Ocasio, age 31 of Livingston Manor had threatened another occupant of the home with a loaded shotgun. While investigating the domestic incident, Troopers made observations that appeared to show that drugs were being sold from the home. A search warrant was obtained and narcotics including approximately 7 grams of unpackaged heroin were located. Also recovered were items commonly used in the drug trade including electronic scales and baggies. Four long guns were confiscated. Read more
