LAKE ARIEL, PA — There will be an opportunity to explore Lacawac Sanctuary’s longest trail on Saturday, March 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at a Big Lake Hike. You can learn about the natural and cultural history of Lacawac Sanctuary and Lake Wallenpaupack. Dress warmly and brink a snack and water. All ages are welcome. The event is free, but registration is appreciated.
There will be another hiking opportunity at the sanctuary later in March: a Hoot Hike on Saturday, March 25 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Enjoy a a live owl talk followed by an evening hike as Lacawac’s partners from the Wildlands Conservancy take participants in search of these marvelous nocturnal birds. The night will end with a campfire and s’mores outside the historic Watres Lodge. Registration is required. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
