Violet M. Fischer of Narrowsburg, NY passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, Honesdale, PA. She was 96.

The daughter of Vincent Negri and Angelena Budetti, she was born January 28, 1917 in Bronx, NY. She was the widow of Walter A. Fischer, who passed away on December 7, 2006. They were married for 65 years.

She attended St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, Narrowsburg, NY. She and her husband helped build St. Rosalie Church in Hampton Bay, NY.

A family statement read, “Violet was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a very talented seamstress. She looked forward to family gatherings and was a big part of the family. She will be greatly missed by all.”

She is survived by a daughter, Arline Barbara and her husband Paul of Narrowsburg, NY; three grandchildren, Dena Smith and her husband Sammy of Bethel, NY, Richard Pfeiffer and his wife Lisa of Cochecton, NY and Christine Kenny and her husband Kevin of Hampton Bay, NY; four great-grandchildren, Amanda M. Kenny, Kevin W. Kenny, Samantha Violet Pfeiffer and Albert C. Smith; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday, April 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday, April 26 from 9 to 9:30 a.m., at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, Narrowsburg, NY.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, April 26 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, Narrowsburg, NY. Rev. William Scully O.F.M. will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Bethel, NY.
