Norma R. (Dexter) Hill

Norma R. (Dexter) Hill died Sunday, April 14, 2013 at her home in Wantage Twp., NJ. She was 73.

Mrs. Hill, daughter of the late Norman and Ruth Roberts Dexter, was born in Honesdale, PA on May 6, 1939. She grew up in Narrowsburg, NY and has resided in Wantage for most of her life.

Mrs. Hill worked as a teacher’s aide for the Sussex-Wantage School District and had also worked at the former Daily-Drew Insurance Agency in Sussex. She taught Sunday school at both the Sussex United Methodist Church and at Colesville United Methodist Church where she was also a Youth Group Leader. Mrs. Hill was formerly a Cub Scout Den Mother and was a past member of the Colesville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution (DAR) and Friends of the Library, Sussex-Wantage Branch.

Mrs. Hill was predeceased by a brother, Jim Dexter and a grandson, Sean Satter. She is survived by her husband, Robert W. Hill Sr.; children, Robin Chandler and her husband Jeff of Wantage, Tammy Satter and her husband Art of Hawley, PA and Robert Hill Jr. and his wife Kirsten of Sparrowbush, NY; sister, Judy Long of Matamoras, PA; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held Wednesday, April 17 at Glen Cove Cemetery in Narrowsburg, NY. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Ferguson Funeral Home 27 Third St. Sussex, NJ.
