He graduated from Broome Community College, served in the U.S. Army, retired from I.B.M. (Endicott/Glendale) after 36 years, spent several years keeping busy in Walmart’s sporting goods department; finally retiring to 90 acres in Tioga County to mow grass, and more grass, fix machinery, and keep a garage full of vehicles running, especially his 1976 Ford 150 (“the orange”) truck.

Harold is survived by his best friend and Life Partner, Geraldine “Geri” Cheevers, of N. Ft. Myers, FL and Owego, NY; three sons, Guy Kellam (Rosemary) of Tyngsboro, MA, Gary Kellam (Rhonda) of Albuquerque, NM, and Daryl P. Kellam (Kathryn) of Endwell, NY; one sister, Eleanor Wells of Narrowsburg, NY; one brother, Donald A. Kellam of Hopewell Junction, NY; three stepchildren, John E. Cheevers, of Modesto, CA, Susanne Cheevers of Binghamton, NY and Elizabeth Youngs (Ty) of Wappengers Falls, NY; two grandchildren, Jake and Gabriel, four step grandchildren, Robert, Brian, Sydney and Taylor; four step great-grandchildren, Robby, Ben, Annalise and Lily; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held in June in New York, with date and time to be determined.
