John J. Yonchik of Shavertown, PA died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, in South Wilkes-Barre, PA. He was 92.
Born in Hurleyville, NY, he was the son of the late Philip and Anna (Anastasia) Luty Yonchik. John was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
John is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Miscavage Yonchik; and sister, Mary Yonchik.
Surviving are sons, Philip and Joseph Yonchik, and daughter, Anna Marie Yonchik; brothers Paul F. Yonchik of Hortonville, NY and Peter Yonchik, Florida; grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. Francis Cabrini Church, Carverton, PA.
