Cynthia A. Monchino of Newburgh, NY entered into rest on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at home with her family. She was 62.

Daughter of the late Richard and Janna Timmerman Birkenstock, she was born on April 10, 1949 in the Bronx, NY. On December 14, 1968, she married Donald R. Monchino, who survives at home.

She graduated from Tappan Zee High School and was a retired Town of New Windsor Court Clerk.

Cynthia was an avid camper and loved being outdoors. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, the light of her life.

In addition to her husband Donald, she is survived by her children Nicole Farrell and husband James of Cochecton, NY and Khristin Canavan and her husband, Thomas of Gardiner, NY; grandchildren Douglas and Kelsey Farrell, Lindsey, Kaylee, Carly and John Canavan; mother-in-law Gloria Monchino; and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her brother Richard Birkenstock.
