Teresa Esselmann of Kenoza Lake, NY died Saturday, November 12, 2011 at home. She was 84.
Teresa was born July 28, 1927 in the Bronx, NY to the late Fred J. and Elizabeth McSweeney Allgeier.
On October 9, 1954 she married Carl F. Esselmann who preceded her in death on February 14, 2009.
Teresa was an avid reader, a great story teller and cook. She will be missed by many.
She is survived by her son and daughter; Douglas Esselmann at home and Marian Hosking and husband David of White Sulphur Springs, NY; granddaughters Allison and Amy Hosking; brother-in-law Oscar Girgach, two nieces; four nephews; and her friend and caretaker Paula Clark.
She is also predeceased by a daughter, Susan Marie Esselmann; brother Piermont P. Allgeier, and sisters Florence A. Hubert and Marian E. Bernhardt.
Friends may call on Wednesday, November 16 at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, 5068 Route 52, Jeffersonville, NY from 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, November 17 at St. George’s Church, Jeffersonville at 11 a.m. Father Ignatius Vu will officiate.
Contributions may be made to Jeffersonville First Aid Squad, Kenoza Lake Fire Department, or to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties.
