EDWARD E. VanFRADENBURGH

Edward E. VanFradenburgh of Kaunenonga Lake, NY, a lifetime Sullivan County resident, passed away on Thursday November 10, 2011 at home. He was 83.

Born on April 16, 1928 in White Lake, NY, Ed was the son of the late Ernest and Etta Stanton VanFradenburgh. He was married to Madeline VanFradenburgh who preceded him in death in 2003.

Ed was the retired owner of Ed’s Trucking in Kauneonga Lake and a member of Community United Methodist Church in Kauneonga Lake. An army veteran during the Korean Conflict, he was a member of the Army Rangers and was the recipient of two Purple Hearts. He was a 63-year member of the Kauneonga Lake Fire Dept., serving as Past Chief and Commissioner. He belonged to the Sgt. Andrew Brucher VFW Post 5499; American Legion Post 109 and the Kelly-Ratner Post DAV.

Survivors include his son John E. VanFradenburgh and wife Vicky of Kauneonga Lake; daughter Cathy McFadden of White Lake; brother Roy VanFradenburg and wife Barbara of Summerfield, FL; sister Mary Etta VanFradenburgh of Kauneonga Lake; grandchildren Kylie VanFradenburgh and Lauren McFadden; and three nieces.

The Kaunenonga Lake Fire Dept. held services at Ramsay’s Funeral Home in Kaunenonga Lake on Monday, November 14. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 15 at the funeral home with Rev. Kenneth Rodgers officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery, Bethel.
