Rose Margaret (Brown) Branning of Beach Lake, PA, died Sunday November 6, 2011 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA. She was 64.

She was born March 8, 1947 in Starruca, PA to the late H. Russell and Jennie (Figger) Brown.

She was an active member of Beach Lake United Methodist Church in Beach Lake, PA where she taught Sunday school and was a historian. She was also a member of Welcome Lake Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary and the Welcome Lake Ladies Aide, and helped with the Honesdale Community Food Pantry.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Roger Branning of Beach Lake; daughter Samatha Branning of Beach Lake; niece/honorary daughter Mary (Brown-Jacobsen) Clark; honorary grandchildren Denise (Jacobsen) Hall, Bryan Jacobsen and wife Jessica, Scott Jacobsen and wife Xochilt, Justin Jacobsen, Destiny Scruggs and Patrick Clark; brothers John Brown and wife Sandy of Newark Valley, NY, Dickson Brown and wife Linda of Coldsprings, PA and Donald Brown and wife Shirley of Waymart, PA; sisters Lura Schwebke and husband Jim of Catskill, NY, Sally Baldwin and husband Wayne of South Daytona, FL and Rowena Lewis of Moosic, PA; 38 nieces and nephews, 48 great nieces and nephews and 18 great-great nieces and nephews.

Rose is predeceased in death by a son, Travis Branning; brothers Carl and Lawrence Brown; and sister Marie Boots.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday, November 10 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, November 11 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 90 Main St. Narrowsburg, NY 12764.

A funeral service will be held November 11 at 11 a.m. at the Beach Lake United Methodist Church, Beach Lake. Rev. Mark Terwilliger will officiate. Burial will be in the Glen Cove Cemetery, Narrowsburg, NY.
