Robert Edward Scott, owner of Hunter Lake Campground, departed us on August 16, 2011 at home. He was 81.

Robert was born on June 8, 1930 to Edward and Florence Scott in Newark, NJ.

He graduated Morristown High School in 1948, and served in the Army during the Cold War in Germany from 1948 to 1952. Robert married his high school sweetheart, Ann Clemente Scott. He ran a successful Land Surveying business for 16 years in Toms River, NJ. In 1977, he and his family moved to Parksville, NY, where they established Hunter Lake Campground, which he ran successfully for 30 years. Robert loved flying, fishing, skiing, baseball and hockey.

For all who knew and loved him, we hope you will recall his closing words, “Thanks for coming.”

Robert is survived by his wife of Parksville; sisters Lois Bell of Seaford, DE and Shirley Booth of Whiting, NJ; children Jeff and Corrine Scott of Encinitas, CA, Brenda and Ralph Downs of Parksville, Brian Scott of Jeffersonville, NY, Wayne and Ellen Scott of Parksville and Keith and Noreen Scott of Parksville; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his son Randy Scott.

Services were held at Bryant Funeral Home in Livingston Manor, NY on Friday, August 19 and on Saturday, August 20. A celebration of his life followed services on Saturday at Hunter Lake Campground.
