Heaven received another angel with the passing of Kirk D. Meehan of Cookville, TN on July 29, 2011.

Kirk was a life member of the Lumberland Fire Dept., veteran of the U.S. Army reserves, former Chief of Lumberland Constabulary, former leader and committee member of Cub Scout Pack 102 in Lumberland, NY.

Kirk had a heart of gold and deeply loved his family and friends. He was a soulmate to his wife and an inspiration, friend and provider to his children; and a wonderful friend to all who knew him.

Kirk is survived by his wife, Bettie Meehan; daughter and son-in-law Jessica and Thomas Golding; son and daughter-in-law Bryan and Lindsey Meehan; grandchildren Thomas Golding and “Baby” Meehan; siblings Theresa Vandermark, Patrick Meehan, Thomas Meehan and David Meehan; and several uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Visitation is Thursday after 10 a.m. at Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home in Cookeville. Funeral services are Thursday, August 4 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cookeville City Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held in New York at a later date.
