Chris Allen Long of Callicoon, NY, an employee of Fulton Well Drilling and a lifetime area resident, died Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 63.

The son of Clinton and Grace Weiss Long, he was born February 5, 1948 in Callicoon. He was married to Elizabeth “Betty” Diehl Long. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Allan Milk VFW Post #7276 of Long Eddy, NY.

He is survived by his wife at home; sister Nancy Sipple and husband Ed of Minnesota; brother Phil Long and wife Brenda of Callicoon; brothers and sisters-in-law Peter and Alice Diehl, William and Carol Diehl and Jack and Helen Diehl, all of Callicoon; many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews; and his little dog Scooter.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 4 at 11 a.m. at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Route 52 in Jeffersonville.

Burial will be in the Jeffersonville Lutheran Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
