Emerson E. Bossley of Jeffersonville, NY entered into eternal rest on July 23, 2011. He was 89.

He was born May 31, 1922 in White Sulphur Springs, NY, the son of Edward and Elizabeth Wylam Bossley.

Emerson served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a TSGT during World War II, as an aircraft mechanic and B-17 crew member. He was co-owner of the Jeffersonville Garage until his retirement. Emerson was a devoted Christian and served several local churches as a lay speaker.

He is survived by daughters Karen Huter and husband Don of Pine Bush, NY, Virginia Bossley of Liberty, NY and Barbara Edwards and husband Harry of Liberty; grandchildren Kim Edgar, Melissa Thiel and Erin Tacti; four great-grandchildren; Baby Emma Rose, expected arrival in October 2011; special friend Barbara Yewchuck of Jeffersonville; sisters-in-law Eileen Robertson, Shirley Hillyer and husband Bob and Georgie Bossley; and several nieces and nephews.

Emerson is predeceased by his parents; his wife of 55 years, Emma Norris Bossley; brothers Harold and Vernon; and sister Laverne Neuberger.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 27 at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Jeffersonville.
