May “Florence” Lynch entered into rest on April 29, 2011 in Elant at Newburgh, NY with her loving family by her side. She was 84.
She was born November 30, 1926 in Newburgh, the daughter of the late George and Estelle Decker Smith.
She was a retired waitress in the area as well as in the Thruway Hot Shop in Modena. May also was a secretary in the Town of Newburgh Police Department.
Survivors include sons Joseph Lynch and wife Barbara of the Town of Newburgh and James Lynch and wife Joyce of Shohola, PA; daughter Jamie Hambly of Ellenville, NY; grandchildren Lorelei Mann and husband Stephen, Alexandra Hoel and husband Jeffrey and Justin McDonald and wife Kim; four great-grandchildren; brother George Smith of the Town of Newburgh; sister Joyce Amundsen of Plattekill, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
May was predeceased by sisters Virginia Weeks and Blanche Lanford; and brother William Smith.
A Memorial Service was held Wednesday, May 25, at Homewood Suites by Hilton, Newburgh/Stewart Airport, New Windsor, NY, led by Philip Wilcox. Interment was private.
