Mary E. Morey of White Lake, NY, a homemaker and longtime area resident, passed away after a long illness on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Twin Cedars in Shohola, PA. She was 92.

Born July 5, 1918 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late James L. and Agnes Coleman Wigger.

Mary was a member of St. Peter’s R.C. Catholic Church in Monticello, NY. She was a charter member of the Smallwood-Mongaup Valley Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary and she belonged to the Bethel Catholic Club. Mary was an avid sportswoman, particularly enjoying golf and bowling.

She is survived by sons Richard A. Morey and wife Maryrose of White Lake and Stephen C. Morey and wife Eileen of Smallwood, NY; daughters Virginia E. Trojan and husband Michael of West Chester, PA, Marion Morey Steed and husband Patrick of Eden, SC and Marjorie A. Greenberg and husband David of New York City; sister Lucille Comerford of Smallwood; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband Richard A. Morey; sister Agnes C. Wigger; and brother. James R. Wigger.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mongaup Valley on Wednesday, April 27. Fr. John Tran and Fr. Robert Ginel were the celebrants. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery, Bethel, NY.
