Rev. Frederick J. Bryant of Jersey City, NY, a summer resident of Narrowsburg, NY, passed away on April 15 at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. He was 68.

Pastor Bryant was born and raised in Philadelphia. He served three years on active service in the Navy and three years in the Reserve. After attending Philadelphia Lutheran Seminary, he served four congregations in Pennsylvania and later spent 17 years at Trinity in New Jersey.

Rev. Bryant will be deeply missed and remembered as a man of great faith, a devoted husband and father, a veteran, a lover of music and poetry, a writer, teacher of the Gospel and a friend.

He is survived by his wife Dorothee Heins Holmstrup Bryant; daughter Eleanor; sister Carolyn; step-mother Jody; and brothers Kieth and Toby.

Funeral services were held on April 23 at Trinity Lutheran Church on Claremont Avenue in Jersey City.
