George R. “Skip” McKean, a lifelong resident of Hawley, PA, died on April 7, 2011 in Hawley. He was 71.

He was born on August 17, 1939 in Shohola, PA to the late George and Marie Quick McKean. He was married to the late Margaret Clark McKean.

He was a self-employed excavator with George R. McKean Excavating.

He is survived by daughters Kathleen McKean of Honesdale, PA and Dawn Bates and husband David of Hawley; son John McKean and wife Michelle of Hawley; grandchildren Lindsay & Brandon, Kassidy, Alyssa, John-John, Morgan, Kayla and Nicholas; soon to be greatgranddaughter Madeline; sister Carolyn Grey and husband Ron of Hawley; several nieces, nephews , aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services were held at Fantasy Island on Tuesday, April 12 with the Rev. Martin L. Cox, Jr. officiating.

Cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel, PA, with burial at German Hill Cemetery, Shohola, PA.
