Art auction benefits WCAA

August 23, 2012

HAWLEY, PA — The Wayne County Arts Alliance (WCAA) will hold its annual benefit art auction on Saturday, August 25 at the Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center near Hawley.

Part of this year’s Wally Fest (see page 13), the auction features works of art by over 30 local artists. This year’s theme is “Crate Expectations,” and the artists have created colorful “containers” of all kinds.

New this year is a “Signature” auction. Select WCAA members will be put on the auction block and sold to the highest bidder. Each one of has valuable services to offer. Do you need your closet or office organized, a custom work of art, a design consultation, a gourmet meal or personalized art instruction? Contact the WCAA about absentee bidding.

The auction is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6 p.m. and bidding begins at 7 p.m. The festivities also include music, a raffle and dessert buffet.
