‘Middle Ground’ opens at CAS

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — The Catskill Art Society will present “Middle Ground,” a two-person exhibition featuring the work of local artists Kathe Blackbird Frantz and Matthew Zappala, from Saturday, January 21 to Sunday, February 26 at 48 Main St. Frantz, one of whose works is shown here, is a painter from Callicoon whose work for this exhibition was inspired by the Delaware River Valley. Zappala, a graphic artist from Saugerties, will present woodcuts created from winter landscapes and unique collages that have the look of a woodcut. There will be an artists’ talk on January 21 at 1 p.m. and an opening reception for the exhibit from 2 to 4 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

CAS Gallery hours for this exhibition are Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 845/436-4227.
