Scenes of Sullivan at CineArt

January 3, 2012

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — Sean Durkin, left, Zac Stuart-Pontier and Jody Lee Lipes, the director, editor and director of photography of “Martha Marcy May Marlene,” chat on the set of a farm on Beaverkill Road in Livingston Manor in the summer of 2010, when the film was being shot. The movie is the CineArt feature at the Callicoon Theatre in Callicoon, NY starting on Friday, January 6. Stuart-Pontier will lead a Q&A session at the Saturday, January 7 screening.

Structurally, the film moves back and forth between a past during which the protagonist is at a farm where she is part of a cult community, and a present at which she is at a lake house after escaping and being reunited with her sister and new brother-in-law. All of the scenes on the farm were finished before moving to Tennanah Lake, where the lake house scenes were shot.
