J’aime Trio at Grey Towers

June 16, 2011

MILFORD, PA — The J’aime Trio will perform at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 18 at Grey Towers National Historic Site. Pieces by Beethoven, Schubert, Francaix and Dohnanyi are on the program offered by these young musicians.

At age 25, violist Amanda Verner is the senior citizen of the group. She began to study the viola at age four, and has served as principal viola with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and the Verbier Festival Orchestra. Cellist Jeong Hyoun Lee, born in Seoul, Korea, was admitted to the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia at age 10. She has worked with conductors Michael Tilson Thomas, Simon Rattle and Alan Gilbert. Violinist and native New Yorker Elizabeth Fayette began her studies at age two. She is the concertmaster of the Curtis Symphony Orchestra, and will be a soloist this summer at the Aspen Music Festival.

“Curtis initially put us together for a tour of Europe,” says Verner. “Jeong and Elizabeth are such amazing musicians; we inspire each other to go beyond the technical details, not hold back, and be 100% in the music.”

The concert is presented by Kindred Spirits Arts Programs in cooperation with the Grey Towers Heritage Association and the USDA Forest Service, which administers Grey Towers. Barbara Buchanan and Elizabeth and Michael Geitz are co-sponsors of this event.

Tickets cost $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12. Tickets can be purchased at www.kindredspiritsprograms.org or from 570/296-9630.
