No indication of foul play in men’s death at Esopus Creek

The Esopus Creek South of Fording Place Rd in the Town of Marbletown claimed two lives earlier this week when three men were last seen Monday, May 30th walking across the rapids. The current swept Kenneth Garland age 47 away. Kristopher Quinn, age 38, tried to help Garland but was unsuccessful. The third person, Jeffrey Galloway, age 39 tried to help, but he too was swept away downstream by the current. Quinn was able to make it to shore and run for help. Galloway was found 5/31/11 and Garland today at 11:01AM.
There has been no indication of foul play in the men’s deaths. Galloway and Garland have been removed to Kingston Hospital where autopsies will be conducted on 06/02/11. Divers from the Ulster Hose Co#5 Fire Dept, The Lamontville Fire Dept., Marbletown and Mobile Life Rescue Squads assisted in the search.
