Delaware Valley Opera presents ‘La Traviata’

July 30, 2014

NARROWSBURG, NY — The Delaware Valley Opera (DVO) will present Verdi’s La Traviata at various times and locations. The opera survived a notoriously unsuccessful opening night to become one of the best-loved operas in the repertoire. The title role of the “fallen woman” has captured the imagination of audiences and performers alike with its inexhaustible vocal and dramatic possibilities—and challenges. Violetta is considered a pinnacle of the soprano repertoire.

DVO’s production is sung in Italian with English supertitles, fully staged with an orchestra.

The schedule is as follows: Friday, August 1, 8 p.m. at the Tusten Theatre, Narrowsburg, NY; Saturday, August 2, 8 p.m. at Wallenpaupack High School, Hawley, PA; Sunday, August 3, 2 p.m. at SUNY Sullivan Seelig Theater, Loch Sheldrake, NY; Tuesday, August 5, 7 p.m. at the Senior Center, Montgomery, NY; Friday, August 8, 8 p.m. at the Tusten Theatre, Narrowsburg, NY; Saturday, August 9, 8 p.m. at the Tusten Theatre, Narrowsburg, NY; and Sunday, August 10, 2 p.m. at the Tusten Theatre, Narrowsburg, NY.
