Auditions held for Poe drama

HURLEYVILLE, NY — Auditions for vocalists, actors and dancers for Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop and The Delaware Valley Opera’s fall performance of “The Masque of the Red Death” will be at the Sullivan County Museum on Saturday, April 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This music-drama, based on Edgar Allen Poe’s famous story, is an original work written and composed by Gladys Smuckler Moskowitz.

Roles that are open are E.A. Poe, narrator; King Propsero, tenor; Queen Ligeria, mezzo; The Fool, baritone; Red Death, dancer/mime; Ebony clock, contralto/bass; Beauty, soprano; Lord Edgar, tenor; and chorus with dialogue.
