Isn’t there a legal defense fund for that?
I can’t see why Town of Highland Supervisor Andy Boyar is bemoaning the cost of defending a gas drilling lawsuit.
If my memory serves me correctly, the Lumberland Concerned Citizens and the Highland Concerned Citizens promised to raise money for any town sued for lawsuits related to gas drilling banning.
Plenty of people who were shouted down by the anti-gas drilling mobs warned against this likely scenario. He should simply call up those leaders and ask to tap into the legal defense fund. That’s what it’s there for, and if I remember correctly, The River Reporter reported it [the fund] had promises of over $200,000. That should clearly pay the full balance of the legal fees incurred.
As they say, “show me the money.” Maybe even David Slottje will make an appearance.
