Liberty woman arrested for grand larceny

Monticello police arrested Jennifer Dugan (22) of Liberty on Friday 8/9/13. Dugan was charged with felonies for grand larceny in the 3rd and 4 the degrees and also 2 counts of misdemeanor conspiracy in the 5th degree.
Dugan was arrested following an investigation into her opening an account at the Key Bank on Broadway in the village of Monticello by using checks from a cancelled account. Dugan then immediately to withdraw money from the account via ATM, debit card and point of sale purchases at numerous retailers.
Dugan withdrew $5,189.15 on 6/6/13 and $1,146.43 on 6/30/13 from the closed account for a total fraud loss of $6335.58 to Key Bank.
Dugan was arraigned in the Village of Monticello justice court before justice Josephine Finn and remanded to the Sullivan county jail on $2,500.00 bail pending further court action.
An investigation is ongoing and several additional arrests are expected. Village of Liberty Police assisted Monticello police in the arrest of Dugan.
