Riverkeeper announces fracking series

June 19, 2013

BRISTOL, PA — According to a press release from Delaware Riverkeeper, the natural gas industry is spending millions of dollars on television, radio, and online advertisements trying to convince viewers that shale gas extraction is safe, and it is hard to avoid the commercials promoting the alleged benefits of shale gas on major television network newscasts and talk shows.

To bring another perspective to the dialogue, the Delaware Riverkeeper Network (DRN) will launch a weekly interview series with experts examining the impacts of the shale gas industry. Beginning Wednesday, June 19, the videos can be seen on the Delaware Riverkeeper Network’s YouTube Channel. DRN will present a new interview segment every Wednesday.

According to Maya van Rossum, the Delaware Riverkeeper, “We are presenting these interviews in an effort to better inform the public about how shale gas extraction poisons our water supplies, pollutes the air, destroys forests and wetlands and ruins the quality of life in the communities it hits.”
