‘Miracle Worker’ takes the stage at the Rivoli

SOUTH FALLSBURG, NY — The classic stage adaptation of the Helen Keller story, William Gibson’s “The Miracle Worker,” will be presented by the Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop for six performances at the Rivoli Theatre from June 21 to 30.

Set in the late 1800s, the play chronicles teacher Annie Sullivan’s (Chelsea Riegal of Livingston Manor) role in the life of her deaf and blind pupil, Helen Keller (Mekayla Perneszi of Hurleyville). Casting director is Lori Schneider of Hurleyville and stage manager and assistant director is Stephanie Watson along with Sally Gladden of Woodridge and Heather Strauss of Rock Hill.

Performances will be on Fridays and Saturdays, June 21, 22, 28, 29 at 8 p.m. and Sundays, June 23 and 30 at 2 p.m. Admission is $18 for adults, $14 for seniors, students (with valid ID) and military/veterans. Tickets can be purchased online at, or at the box office. Call 845/436-5336 or visit
