Sore throat; many events

April 24, 2013

How come when I was a kid and I got strep throat I could still go out and play? Now that I am in my 50s, it’s taking forever to go away—two weeks on antibiotics, plus the doctor wants me to go see an ear, nose and throat specialist on May 2. If my throat still hurts by then, I am going to be a bit cranky.

The Cochecton Youth Commission still has openings on its board. If you are interested, come to the next meeting on May 7. We meet once a month at 7 p.m. I am the treasurer of the youth commission and that is why donations are important to me, as I have to write the checks to pay for our events. These events are for Cochecton youth only. If at any point we do open them up to the public, we will let you know. As you see, we try to do an event each month, so your donations are greatly appreciated. There is no time limit on the pink letter you got in the mail; we will take donations throughout the year at PO Box 164, Lake Huntington, NY 12752.

Here are some of our upcoming events, which you can also find by following us on Facebook.

The rumors that the Narrowsburg United Methodist Church is closed have been greatly exaggerated. They are alive and well and extend a heartfelt invitation to all to attend on Sunday mornings. Their relatively new pastor is Rev. Linda Bohs, who studied at Drew University in New Jersey, and currently at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC during the summer months. Services are at 8:30 a.m. They are looking to begin a Bible study, Sunday school and choir. All are most cordially welcome to come and honor the Sabbath Day at the Narrowsburg United Methodist Church. Join their close-knit family in Christ.

Have a great week and email me at leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have any news.
