Earth Day festival at Lake Wallenpaupack
HAWLEY, PA — The annual Earth Day festival at PPL Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This free event is child friendly and includes face painting, music and games.
Among the highlights of this year’s festival will be a “species celebration room”—a meeting room transformed into a “costume cave.” Learn how to turn T-shirts into shopping bags. Outdoor activities include bird walks, a species dig, a fishing pool, casting demonstrations, kayak/canoe demos, an obstacle course and a scavenger hunt. 8K run/walk to embrace Grey Towers’ history
MILFORD, PA — An Earth Day 8K Run/Walk will be held at Grey Towers. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the run/walk begins at 9 a.m.
The inaugural race, organized by the Grey Towers Heritage Association and the U.S. Forest Service, will start at Grey Towers and follow the Pinchot Greenway through Milford Borough to Milford Beach and then back to Grey Towers. The registration fee is $30. All proceeds will be used for public programs commemorating Grey Towers’ 50th anniversary this year. Hike into spring
GREENTOWN, PA — Promised Land State Park will host “Hike into Spring” to kick off the park’s monthly hiking series. Every third Saturday from April through October, park volunteer Ann Foster will lead a hike to explore all that the park has to offer.
This easy two-mile loop hike is recommended for ages 10 and up. Wear sturdy shoes (boots preferred) and bring water. Meet at 9 a.m. on the park office porch.
