Cardboard sled race and donations for food pantry

Representatives of a dozen companies lined up with their cardboard sleds at the Holiday Mountain Ski and Fun Park on February 9 to take part in a race. The sleds could be made only from cardboard, tape and paint. The Woodstock Wind Balloon Company took the prize for “most creative,” while the Poley Paving Company created the fastest sled.

After the race, five restaurants competed in the Second Annual Winter Wing Fling to benefit the Sullivan County Food Pantry. The Judge’s Choice winners were Larry Valentia and Jerry O’Donnell of Holiday Mountain Ski and Fun Park.

The proceeds of the event, sponsored by the Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce and Young Emerging Leaders, netted a donation of $1,000 to the pantry.
