‘Changing the Way We Eat’ at CAS

February 13, 2013

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — Residents of the Upper Delaware region interested in the sustainable food movement are invited to a free, day-long party on Saturday, February 16 where a live webcast conference, “Changing the Way We Eat,” will be shown. This local viewing party will be held at the Catskill Art Society on Main Street from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Potluck lunch contributions are welcome.

Two of the many presenters at this TEDx-Manhattan event include Peter Lehner, executive director of the Natural Resources Defense Council, talking about the astonishing 40% of the food grown in our country that goes to waste; and Anna Lappe, a founder of the Small Planet Institute talking about the $2 billion spent annually to hook children and teens on high-fat, high-salt and high-cholesterol foods. See www.tedxmanhattan.org/speakers for a complete list of speakers.

The local screening party will be hosted by Catskill Mountainkeeper, Slow Food Upper Delaware River and the Hudson Region Chapter of Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York.
