RIVER VALLEY COMMUNITIES — Up until December 15, the Peck’s markets in five towns will match any items contributed to local food pantries by shoppers. Collection bins are set up in Peck’s stores in Narrowsburg, Callicoon, Eldred, Jeffersonville and Livingston Manor in New York. All food items will be distributed by the stores to the pantries in their communities.

Meanwhile, a group of five churches in New York and one in Pennsylvania continue to collect for the Narrowsburg Ecumenical Food Pantry. The churches are St. Francis Xavier, Narrowsburg Methodist Church, Narrowsburg Lutheran Church, Lady of the Lake Church and the Presbyterian Church in Lake Huntington, as well as the Upper Delaware Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Beach Lake, PA.

The Narrowsburg food pantry operates out of St. Francis Xavier Church on Thursdays between 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. year round. (Advance registration is required.) Donations of non-perishable food items may be dropped off at St. Francis Xavier’s on Thursdays prior to 4 p.m. Clients wishing to receive a holiday food basket should register by contacting Jennifer Maurizzio at 845/252-6761. Donations of money can be mailed to Narrowsburg Ecumenical Food Pantry, P.O. Box 54, Narrowsburg, NY 12764.
