Budding poets play with words
January 26, 2012 —
MONTICELLO, NY — The George L. Cooke fifth-grade poets enjoyed their recent unit of study, “Playing with Words.” They played with specific techniques, line breaks, stanza, figurative language (such as similes) rhyme and alliterations to make unique poems as tumbling snowflakes. The theme was winter, so all classes chose a winter-related image to use on the bulletin boards in the school’s hallways. The photos here display some of the results.
