December 29, 2011 —
LIBERTY, NY — Cornell Cooperative Extensions (CCE) Lewis, Oneida, Schoharie-Otsego, and Sullivan counties are pleased to offer Annie’s Project for a second year in New York State. Annie’s Project, an agricultural risk management education program aimed at empowering women in agriculture to become savvy business leaders and partners in today’s farming industry, will be offered at CCE starting on January 12 and running for six consecutive Thursdays. Each session will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., including a one-hour lunch period to network with colleagues.
The target audience is farm women with a passion for business and involvement. Sessions will combine lecture, discussion, individual and small group activities and software training. Five areas of agricultural risk management—production, marketing, financial, legal (estate planning) and human resources —are covered through a combination of featured presenters through an interactive communications system and discussion leaders from the local communities at each location.
A pre-registration fee of $50 per person is required, covering all course materials, handouts and lunch. Scholarships may be available for qualified applicants. Call 845/292-6180.
