‘DIRT! The Movie’
November 3, 2011 —
BLOOMING GROVE, PA — The Pike County Conservation District will present “Dirt! The Movie” at the district office in Blooming Grove on November 29 at 7 p.m. The film takes a humorous and substantial look into the history and current state of the living organic matter that we come from and will later return to.
Four billion years have created the dirt that recycles our water, gives us food, provides us shelter, and can be used as a source of medicine, beauty and culture. “Dirt! The Movie” uncovers the surprising ways we can repair our relationship with dirt and create new possibilities for all life on earth.
Come and meet Pike County’s new Watershed Specialist Lori Colgan, who will be facilitating the event. The District Water Specialist monitors and assesses groundwater and surface water, develops programs to ensure water quality, assists municipalities in developing ordinances and site design criteria for water quality protection, and supports watershed organizations. After the movie Colgan will engage in a Q&A period.
Visit www.dirtthemovie.org. Popcorn and refreshments will be provided for the free program, but space is limited so reserve your seats today.
