River trenching delayed by storms

September 6, 2011

Plans to begin trenching activities in the Lackawaxen River related to the Tennessee Gas Pipeline’s (TGP) 300 Line Project in Pike County continue to be delayed following Hurricane Irene and a series of rain events that have beset the region.

According to El Paso Corporation spokeswoman Gretchen Krueger, the company is waiting for the waters in the river to subside before crews can safely resume construction activities in the area. TGP conducted a flyover of the pipeline route on August 29 to assess the post-hurricane status of the project, at which time the river had not yet crested.

When conditions improve, TGP will begin excavating a nine- to 12-foot trench across the Lackawaxen River in preparation for laying the length of 30-inch-diameter steel natural gas transmission pipeline that will expand the current pipeline.

See www.elpaso.com/tgp300lineproject/ for more information. TGP is proposing an additional expansion of its 300 Line. Visit www.northeastupgradeproject.com to learn more. TGP can be reached toll-free at 866/683-5587.
